“Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.” – Exodus 15:6-7
Every day I am amazed at mankind and its persistence to demand the right to be in control. The average person moves from humility to self-reliance. It begins at birth, from the time you and I are born; we are born in a humble state, but, in time, we grow to learn how to be self-dependent. As time passes, this dependence begins to grow into the thought process that we have arrived so that we eventually distance ourselves from the One Who created us.
A few things to think on from this scripture:
1. GOD, YOU WERE HERE FIRST.
One thing is clear, a big bang never happened. Think about it-if we are in our house and we hear a little bang that would alarm us greatly. Take the thought of a universal explosion. Nobody was there when it happened, and it is all speculation, built on the concept of intellect. There is much written on Creation (aig.org). To bury your mind in intellect is only proving the point of self-reliance and distance from God. God was here first before our puny thoughts.
2. GOD, NO ONE CAN MEASURE YOUR GREATNESS.
The idea that mankind think that they know everything while only existing in some small town, in a small state, from a small university, from a small mind on a small planet in a large universe, which is still all undiscovered, is absolutely crazy! We humans think we are so great because we can get to the moon, but the fact that we do not have enough intellect or power to fly outside of the Milky Way is quite a bold statement. God’s greatness from a universal standpoint cannot be measured. Man is weak and frail, but God is bigger!
3. GOD, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.
God has built man and he has built everything we touch, think, and see. Ephesians 3:20-21 goes something like this: God , You can do anything, You know far more than we could ever imagine or guess or request in our wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around, but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!
Look up and know God is bigger!
THE BOTTOM LINE: NO ONE IS STRONGER THAN GOD!
